We’re super excited about Festival 200, and we hope you are too. Following is a little information for your church on what it’s all about.
If you have any questions, please contact us at email@example.com
Why Festival 200: The Invitation?
200 years ago Nga Puhi Chief Ruatara invited Reverend Samuel Marsden to share the gospel message at Oihi Bay. Marking a moment in time, we’re excited to celebrate the the good news across Aotearoa New Zealand – a story going out from Oihi Bay and arriving in Ngai Tahu, for all of us.
The gospel invitation continues to offer a new life in the story of God. Who will you invite to hear the gospel message?
What is happening on 7th December?
Churches across the city are excited to gather together to worship, pray and celebrate on 7th December.
We’ll sing together, pray together, and hear some of the local gospel stories of our region – from 200 years ago, right through to today.
It will be a large combined church gathering with:
- worship led by Grace Vineyard Pastor Sam Harvey
- corporate prayer led by people from all over the churches of the city
- stories of God’s grace here in Christchurch as told by local Cantabrians
- kapahaka with first regional qualifiers Ngā Manu a Tāne
More info will be available soon, so check back for further details.
Tickets are essential, and available from Ticketek.
Wait a minute – you’re charging me to go to church?
Getting everyone together is a big deal, and after some very long conversations, we’ve come to the conclusion that a very small charge will enable us to give you the best possible experience on the night. Adult tickets are $6 each, and there’s a one-off Ticketek booking charge of $8 per transaction. We suggest you buy in bulk and select seating for your family or youth group to sit together. Lots of churches are pre-buying tickets in a seated section and on-selling to their people.
Can you tell me more about tickets?
Sure can! Ticketek.co.nz is the place to buy tickets. If you’re buying in bulk for your church, we recommend you call 0800TICKETEK as Ticketek’s computer system only allows for 10 seat sales at a time.
Youth Section – at the request of the younger ones, we have a youth section on the floor so groups can sit together. Call up and ask for ‘youth hold’ tickets to purchase these. Numbers are strictly limited so get in quick!
Is Festival 200 just about one night?
In the weeks leading up to Christmas we’ll be sharing the stories of churches across the city, and encourage local churches to share their own stories. Te Raranga will share a list of all the Christmas happenings around the city and how you can get involved in this special season.
