The Society of Salt and Light is a network of young adults engaging in the questions and issu
es that 18-30s wrestle with when it comes to faith. On the first Tuesday and Wednesday of each month young adults, from both local churches and none, come together at Addington Coffee Co-op for a night of fast paced speakers, debate, conversation and fair trade hoc chocolates. Rumour is, it’s also a great place to meet your future husband or wife. Salt & Light first kicked off 2010 as an initiative by the Anglican church, but quickly become an interdenominational gathering point for Christian young adults in the city, with over 35 churches being involved in some way since its humble beginnings.
Salt & Light aims to support, resource and challenge the young adults age group, a life stage that the Church has increasingly had trouble holding onto and connecting with.
