CFAST – Churches For the Abolition of Sex Trafficking

CFAST

More than 27 million people are estimated to be in slavery today – 80% of them women, 50% of them childre

Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen:n. One person is bought and sold every 27 seconds. And even more disturbing, an estimated 80% of those who are trafficked and enslaved – are trafficked for the purpose of sexual exploitation.

To loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke,

To set the oppressed free and break every yoke?

Isaiah 58:6

At CFAST, our Vision is a world free of sex trafficking.

Our Mission is to empower and engage the Church in the fight to abolish sex trafficking.

CFAST was launched in Christchurch on March 9th and exists to support the local church in developing effective strategies for their involvement in this cause. It is supported by three local agencies working internationally in the anti-trafficking field: Hagar, Nvader and Freeset.

At www.cfast.org.nz  you can find information about sex trafficking, and resources to help you and your church or group engage with this issue. There are resources for prayer, homegroups and youth, DVD/video clips and sermon ideas. There are also contact details for speakers from Hagar, Nvader and the Freedom Collaboration available to come to your church or group. We are also available for informal discussions, support and information as you explore ideas on how you and you church can be involved in abolishing sex trafficking.

This site will be regularly updated to include the latest and most current resources for you to use. Information regarding upcoming news and events wil also be publicised here so check regularly to find out what’s on and what other churches are doing to help abolish sex trafficking.
